Maspeth Town Hall is in its 13th year at IS 49 as a SONYC program. School's Out New York City (SONYC) serves as a pathway to success for youth in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The students are provided a variety of different clubs and activities to participate in on a daily basis. The overall structure of the program allows for students to make their own choices in which of the clubs and activities they'd be interested in attending or signing up for. Clubs like our Drama Club, Lego Robotics / WIRED Club, and our Sports Leagues are just a few examples of the counselor / instructor-led activities that encourage youth to actively participate in academic and recreational development. Students are also provided a light snack at the beginning of the day with a brief run through of the daily schedule to inform them what activities are available each day.
